Sea Love Charters will continue to fish through the COVID-19 pandemic as we monitor the updates and respond to the advice of governments, public health authorities, and medical professionals. Certain operational changes and practices approved by the State of Florida, St. Johns County, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have been implemented to help you feel comfortable fishing with us and ensure a safe offshore experience for everyone. On April 30, 2020 Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-112, which was Phase One of a plan for re-opening Florida for business. According to the plan, restaurants opened for indoor seating at 50% of their building capacity, with at least 6-feet of space between parties. However, restaurants opened their outdoor seating with at least 6-feet of space between parties with no restrictions on capacity. On June 5, the State of Florida moved into phase 2 of reopening which includes:
· Bars and pubs may operate at 50 percent capacity inside and full capacity outside with appropriate social distancing.
· Entertainment businesses may operate at 50 percent capacity with appropriate social distancing and sanitation protocols.
Because fishing is an outdoor activity, we are subjecting our vessels to the 50% capacity rule. Beginning June 1, the capacity of ‘Sea Love II’ is limited to 30 passengers and three crew members and the ‘Sea Love III’ is limited to 15 passengers and two crew members. The following practices approved by the CDC are currently being followed by the Sea Love staff:
